i Got This!

Privacy Policy

No human at iGT-PA reads your conversations. Only you can see, edit or delete what the assistant writes down about you. The one exception: if a conversation triggers a crisis flag, one short safety paragraph (not the conversation) is reviewed by Ann and the safeguarding lead so we can check the safety pathway worked.

Effective date: 15 July 2026 · Version 2

1. Who we are

i Got This! is a digital wellbeing assistant built and operated by iGT-PA Ltd, trading as i Got This!

2. What i Got This! is — and is not

i Got This! is a digital wellbeing assistant. We are here for everyday wellbeing — stress, sleep, low mood, the loud days. We are not therapy. We are not a doctor and do not give medical advice. We do not diagnose anything. We are not a substitute for professional mental-health support. We are not a crisis service. Under MHRA guidance and the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002, i Got This! is non-medical wellness software. It is not a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).

3a. Session data

When you use i Got This!, we record:

  • A mood score (1–5) at the end of your session — only if you choose to share it.
  • The time your session started and ended, and how long it lasted.
  • The type of device you used (for example, "mobile" or "desktop").

3b. Consent records

We record that you read and agreed to our terms and this privacy policy before using the app. This is a legal requirement under UK GDPR.

3c. Crisis safety events

If a conversation triggers our crisis safety pathway — for example, if you express thoughts of suicide or self-harm — we log that a crisis event occurred, along with the time and a brief safety record. We do not log the conversation itself. This is the only circumstance in which any human at iGT-PA reviews anything related to your session.

3d. What we do NOT collect

We do not collect, store, or retain:

  • Your conversation content. What you say to Jeni and what Jeni says to you is never stored on our servers.
  • Your name or email address (unless you voluntarily provide it in a future account feature).
  • Biometric data, medical records, or clinical information of any kind.
  • Payment information. i Got This! is entirely free. We have no payment system.
  • Location data beyond the country level (UK only).

4. Mood scores and special category data

Mood scores may be considered health-related data. Under UK GDPR, health data is "special category" data requiring a higher level of protection. We process your mood score only with your explicit consent, given when you choose to enter a score at the end of a session. You can skip the mood check-in at any time — if you do, no score is recorded.

5a. To provide the service

We use session data to let the app work — for example, to load your session history and mood trends. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) and, for mood data, explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) UK GDPR).

5b. To keep the service safe

We use crisis event records to check that our safety pathway is working correctly. This is a safeguarding function, not a monitoring function. Legal basis: legitimate interests in ensuring the safety of our users (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).

5c. To improve the service

We may use anonymised, aggregated session data — for example, how many sessions happened in a week — to understand how the app is being used. This data cannot identify you. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).

6. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in a database hosted in the United Kingdom. It does not leave the UK. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

7. How long we keep your data

During the closed beta (running until no later than 13 September 2026), we retain your session data for the duration of the beta period. At the end of the beta, we will ask whether you want your data retained for the live service or deleted. Any data not retained by participant choice will be deleted within 30 days. You can request deletion at any time — see Section 9. Crisis event records are retained for a minimum of 12 months for safeguarding purposes.

8. Who we share your data with

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. To operate the app, we use a small number of specialist technology providers — for functions such as secure database hosting, video capability, application hosting, and AI processing. Each provider is contractually bound to process your data only to provide their service to us, and holds it to the standard required by UK GDPR. We hold a full list of these providers in our internal records, as required by UK GDPR Article 30. You can request a copy by emailing info@igt-pa.co.uk. We may also be required to share data with law enforcement or a court if legally obliged to do so.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights. Email info@igt-pa.co.uk to exercise any of them — we will respond within one calendar month.

  • Right of access — ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data within 30 days, subject to safeguarding obligations.
  • Right to restriction — ask us to pause using your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Right to data portability — ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to our use of your data on grounds of legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent for mood scores at any time, without affecting past processing.

10. Right to complain to the ICO

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator: Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) ico.org.uk | 0303 123 1113 We would always prefer to hear from you directly first, but your right to complain to the ICO is independent of contacting us.

11. Cookies and analytics

i Got This! does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. We collect minimal, anonymised analytics — for example, how many sessions happened in a day — to understand how the app is used and improve it. No personally identifiable information is included. Analytics data is never sold.

12. Who can use i Got This!

i Got This! is for people aged 18 and over who are UK-based and have the capacity to consent. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that data from someone under 18 has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you the next time you open the app and ask you to review the updated policy before continuing.
